Phase Two build of Amphora Place progressing well
Following the pre-let of the second phase of the Amphora Place office development in Colchester, construction is progressing well on the exciting new office build. Site Manager, Phil Girling from Rose Builders reported pleasing progress thus far: ‘We have completed piling and testing of the piles which enabled our ground workers to excavate the required trenches to then enable the construction and installation of the reinforcing and concrete foundation pads, beams and bolts which has bought us to the next stage erecting the steel frame, this has progressed well.” The chartered insurance broker Aston Lark has agreed to a new 10-year lease for the building, which upon completion will comprise 10,000 sq ft (929 sq m) of Grade A office space which has set a record rent for the town, demonstrating a proven and increasing need for exceptional employment space within the Borough. The first phase of Amphora Place was let to Birkett Long Solicitors who took occupation of the 17,500 sq ft (1,625 sq m) building in June 2017. The construction process for Phase 2 is being project managed by Colchester Amphora Trading Limited, one of the Colchester Borough Council’s new wholly owned commercial companies, ready for Aston Lark to take occupation in Spring 2019.
